Heriberto Bentley had a good game, but he could not keep the San Bernardino Stampede from falling, 6-5, to the Martinez Clippers at Grainger Stadium. The San Bernardino catcher went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Stewart Pass snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on no hits. He's now 1-3 on the season. The slumping Stampede have dropped 7 in a row.
Aramis Castillo, the 19-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Castillo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Martinez up, 5-3.
"Nice win for us," said Castillo. "Now we'll go after the next one."
