The Modesto Nuts easily defeated the Lake Elsinore Storm, 12-4, at John Thurman Field, with designated hitter Carmello Clayton a main contributor to the win. He went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Modesto. The win puts Modesto at 27-11 this season.
In the bottom of the third, Modesto left fielder Nicholas Barrios had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Barrios stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-1, Modesto. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
