Stockton Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
Stockton designated hitter Raidel Moya had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-5, to Modesto at John Thurman Field. Moya was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Rob Pritchett, the winning pitcher, is now 6-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 3. The losing streak for Stockton has now reached 8 games.
Zander Gargaloyan had a big grand slam home run for the Nuts in the bottom of the second inning. With Modesto leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Roblero and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Nuts on top, 7-2.
Stockton manager Tristan Batista, after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."
