Santa Cruz Hot Streak Continues with 6-2 Win
|
Santa Cruz pitcher L.J. Romano had a large part in his team subduing the Napa Silverados, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. In 7.1 innings, Romano surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Russ Duggins earned save number 13 this season.
Santa Cruz used a clutch at-bat from Caleb Cole to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cruisers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Cole told the Santa Cruz Daily. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
The winning continues for Santa Cruz, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
