In a tight tilt between the Santa Cruz Cruisers and the San Bernardino Stampede, Valentín Arian was the deciding factor. The Santa Cruz right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Picking up the save was Ademár Belasco, his 1st. The Cruisers, at 28-22, sit in 4th place in the California League North Division.

Santa Cruz used a clutch at-bat from Shon Miller to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cruisers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Valentín was Valentín," said Cruisers manager Ferdinand Coleman. "He gave it all he's got."
