The Stompers grabbed a win, 1-0, at Bright House Field, overcoming a fine effort from Bakersfield pitcher Isaiah Tolles. Tolles went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Ben McLeod, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Sonoma has run its win streak to 6 straight.
Sonoma took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ron Schenone hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Stompers.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Sonoma manager Lorenzo Velarde.
