Gulls Use Late Rally to Win 5th Straight
Zain Secrest had a good game, but he could not keep the Riverside Red Wave from falling, 9-6, to the Ventura Gulls at Roger Dean Stadium. The Riverside first baseman went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI in the loss. Eitor De Nava picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Osoro Luis was tagged with the loss. The Gulls, at 30-24, have now won 5 straight.

The Gulls beat the Red Wave in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Kevin Bilal produced in the top of the eighth. Batting against Osoro Luis, Bilal gave his team the lead, 7-6, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Ventura manager Jason Norton.
