Stallings Goes Deep Twice in 4-3 Red Wave Win
|
In a tight contest at Hammond Stadium, the Riverside Red Wave edged the Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers by the score of 4-3. Riverside right fielder Alex Stallings, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Getting the save was Rob Jones, his 13th. With the win, Riverside goes to 22-34, while the Rattlers fall to 27-29.
Riverside took a 4-1 lead on Stallings's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Ashton Harrison in the top of the eighth, propelled Riverside to the win.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Stallings told a local reporter after the game.
