Victory Pushes Giants Record to 27-27
|
The San Jose Giants earned a win at Grainger Stadium, stopping the San Bernardino Stampede, 4-2. Starting pitcher Rodney Luyster played a big role in his team's success. Luyster got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Luyster allowed 1 run. With the win, the Giants improved to 27-27.
Eufemio Canales had a big 2-run double for the Giants in the top of the sixth inning. With San Jose leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Rodney Ryder and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Canales told the San Jose Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
