Clippers Handed 6-2 Loss by Bakersfield
|
Flanagan Adams was a major contributor to the 6-2 Bakersfield win over Martinez. The Blaze center fielder went 2 for 4 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bakersfield reliever Hideiichi Sato got the win, raising his record to 10-0. Cash Thomas was tagged with the loss. Salamon Mancia was credited with the save for Bakersfield, his 5th of the season.
Paolo Pizzolato dealt the Clippers a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Bakersfield leading 1-0, Pizzolato hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run single.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Adams told the Bakersfield Bulletin.
Martinez has now lost 4 consecutive games.
