The first-place San Jose Giants picked up another win.

The San Jose Giants beat the Sonoma Stompers, 7-4. San Jose pitcher and Aspen Hill, Maryland, native A.J. Young led the way. Young picked up the win for San Jose, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 8-0.

The Giants got a big boost from designated hitter Abel Meeks who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Stompers hurler Marco Ravasi. It was his 14th walk of the season and put San Jose on top, 1-0.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Giants manager Dylan D'Onofrio, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."

San Jose has now won 5 in a row.
