Joe Cole helped his team muscle past the Santa Cruz Cruisers, 9-5. In the game, the High Desert left fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Earning his 5th save of the year was Brandon Bright. The Mavericks improve their record to 29-34 with the win over Santa Cruz.

Cole put High Desert up, 5-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Jim Vercillo in the top of the third. His 6th home run of the season helped the Mavericks capture the win.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Cole said. "We did a good job of that today."
