Walsh Helps Storm Defeat Diamonds, 10-7
|
No one was more impactful than Noah Walsh in the 10-7 Lake Elsinore win over Pittsburg. Walsh was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Lake Elsinore reliever Reuben Duvall snagged the win, upping his record to 4-2. Bruno Bello shouldered the loss. The last-place Diamonds dropped to 21-46.
Lake Elsinore first baseman Sterling Tunon contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Storm ahead, 8-4.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Pittsburg manager Chris Carpenter. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
