The High Desert Mavericks picked up a win at Mavericks Stadium, knocking off the Martinez Clippers, 8-1. Starting pitcher Logan Amos played a key role in the triumph. The Mavericks are now 32-35, while the Clippers fall to 29-38.

The Mavericks got a big hit from shortstop Tim Posillico. In the bottom of the sixth, Posillico pounded a 2-run double to right-center. His 10th double of the season put the Mavericks ahead, 4-1.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Posillico. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
