JetHawks Dump Giants, 7-2
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Lancaster JetHawks picked up a win at The Hanger, knocking off the San Jose Giants, 7-2. On the mound for Lancaster was left-hander Kevin Sennett, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Sennett, now 6-6. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5.
In the bottom of the second, Lancaster left fielder Tyler McKnight had a run-producing at-bat. Facing San Jose hurler Bart Trejo, McKnight drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 2-0, Lancaster. For the day, McKnight was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Lancaster manager Josh Burke.
The 5th-place JetHawks have a record of 33-38.
