9-4 Loss to Udder Tuggers Extends Riverside Losing Streak
|
The Temecula Udder Tuggers topped the Riverside Red Wave, 9-4, in California League action at Roger Dean Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Temecula left fielder Ernest Gougeon. Jordan Veillette earned the win to go to 4-3. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The losses continue to pile up for Riverside, which has now fallen 15 times in a row.
Temecula relied on the hitting of Neal Tlaseca to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Udder Tuggers on top, 3-0. For the game, Tlaseca had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I can only hope we've hit rock bottom," lamented losing manager Damani Mayo in postgame remarks.
