Silverados Deal Nuts 5-2 Loss
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Napa Silverados and Modesto Nuts.
The Napa Silverados beat the Modesto Nuts, 5-2. Napa pitcher and Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio, native Darien Keith led the way. Napa has a record of 37-35, placing them 7th in the California League North Division.
Napa won the game in part because of Daniel Vigil. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Silverados ahead, 5-1. For the game, Vigil had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Napa manager Bobby Gomez commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
