Victory Takes Rattlers to 42-32
|
Rancho Cucamonga got a first-rate effort from pitcher Buck Dwyer, who frustrated Bakersfield hitters en route to a 3-1 Rattlers triumph at Jim Perry Stadium. Dwyer got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Jon McNeil earned the save for Rancho Cucamonga, his 1st of the year.
Rancho Cucamonga used the hitting of Gavin McCleese to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rattlers on top, 3-0. For the game, McCleese had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We busted our tails," said Bakersfield manager Brian O'Kray. "But we came up short."
With the win, Rancho Cucamonga raised its record to 42-32.
