Rancho Cucamonga pitcher Hunter Saenz had a large part in his team beating the Riverside Red Wave, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Luis Machado was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The 8th-place Rattlers improved to 33-42.

It could have been a different outcome for Rancho Cucamonga, had it not been for Pierson Gibson, the 21-year old center fielder . Gibson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Rancho Cucamonga up, 2-0.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Rancho Cucamonga manager Maddox Lesneski.
