Clippers Pull Off Thrilling 4-2 Win in Extras
|
No one was more impactful than John Hatchell in an extra-inning, 4-2 Martinez win over Rancho Cucamonga. Hatchell went 5 for 6 with 5 singles and a walk. The 6th-place Rattlers now sit at 40-50.
Martinez needed the clutch hitting of Yibrahim Chaves to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Clippers on top, 4-2. For the game, Chaves had 1 home run and 2 singles in 7 at-bats.
"Do what you're good at," said Martinez manager Josiah Gordon. "That's all I ask of the team."
