San Bernardino Gets 6-2 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 25-year old first baseman Abe Richards, the San Bernardino Stampede stopped the Martinez Clippers, 6-2. Randy Reardon, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Santiago Baez finished to wrap up his 11th save.
In the top of the fourth of a scoreless game, Richards hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said San Bernardino manager Giordano Lopera.
The 'W' lifts San Bernardino's record to 44-60.
