Blaze Tag Red Wave with 3-0 Loss
|
In a well-pitched game between the Bakersfield Blaze and the Riverside Red Wave, pitcher Aidan English was superb. The Bakersfield right-hander helped his team win, 3-0. English, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Jeremiah Garcia earned the save for Bakersfield, his 14th of the year.
Bakersfield used a clutch at-bat from Frank Prescott to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Blaze ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Bakersfield manager Brian O'Kray.
The Blaze are now 56-50.
