Cruisers Win, 5-3, Versus Riverside
|
The Santa Cruz Cruisers had to overcome a fine effort from Riverside pitcher Woody Salley to win, 5-3, at Roger Dean Stadium. Salley went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win gives Santa Cruz a season record of 63-42.
Jaxon Snell came through with a big-time hit for Santa Cruz. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Snell.
