Rawhide in Free Fall, Lose 10th Straight
The Santa Cruz Cruisers picked up a win at Rawhide Ballpark, dropping the Visalia Rawhide, 5-1, in 13 innings. Daniel Gale, who is tied for 9th in the CAL in innings pitched with 123.2, was the difference-maker. Santa Cruz is 5th in the California League North Division with a record of 57-49.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Gerald Lucenti came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Visalia pitcher Dale Schroeder, he hit a full count sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Santa Cruz on top, 2-1.

Visalia manager Anthony Pizarro, after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."
