The Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers took it on the chin, losing, 10-0, to the Bakersfield Blaze. J.R. Palacio pitched a strong game for Bakersfield. Kelly Nowak collected his 1st save. The Blaze have a one-game lead in the California League South Division.

Sherwin Kavanaugh drove in one run for Bakersfield. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Lucas Nguyen. It was his 34th RBI of the season.
