Clippers Sneak Past Giants, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Martinez Clippers and the San Jose Giants, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Cameron Tricoli was the difference-maker. The Martinez right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 10 innings. The Clippers saw their win-loss record go to 55-59. At the same time, the Giants fell to 71-43.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ben Howell in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Charlie Pack to win the game for Martinez. The home crowd went nuts.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said San Jose manager Leon Becerra.
