Mavericks Lose as JetHawks Stage Late Rally
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lancaster JetHawks and High Desert Mavericks.

The Lancaster JetHawks knocked off the High Desert Mavericks, 10-7, at Mavericks Stadium. Jack Vanwye was a big reason Lancaster won. The center fielder went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Cliff Zhang, who is tied for 2nd in the CAL in saves with 24, nailed down the save.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Vanwye delivered big-time for Lancaster, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Joe Church. The game-changing hit put the JetHawks on top, 10-7.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Vanwye.

Lancaster goes to 55-63, High Desert to 50-68.
