Rattlers Improve to 75-54 with 11-5 Win
|
With first baseman Lew Lyles leading the charge, the Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers defeated the Lancaster JetHawks, 11-5, at The Hanger. Lyles, who is tied for 8th in the CAL with a .324 batting average, went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The win was credited to Elias De Leon in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Glen Ricketts took the loss. Keith Wootson finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Rancho Cucamonga used a clutch at-bat from T.J. Frias to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rattlers ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Rattlers manager Maddox Lesneski.
Rancho Cucamonga has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
