Walk-Off Seals 78th Victory for Stampede
|
The San Bernardino Stampede, despite a fine performance by Pittsburg pitcher Diego Pardinas, grabbed a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Grainger Stadium. Pardinas allowed 1 run over 6 innings. Artémio Blanco claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 5-2. San Bernardino, at 78-53, sits in third place in the California League South Division.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for San Bernardino. That's when R.J. Vance hit a solo home run off fireballing 6' 7" right-hander Todd Brown to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Pittsburg manager Slick Adame.
