The performance of Samuel Cuevas proved critical in helping Bakersfield beat San Jose, 5-1. The Blaze center fielder was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Julien Gutierre had a big 2-run home run for the Blaze in the bottom of the fourth inning.
