Cruisers Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Lake Elsinore
|
Spirited fans greeted the Lake Elsinore Storm for their clash with the Santa Cruz Cruisers.
The Santa Cruz Cruisers topped the Lake Elsinore Storm by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Seth Bergholtz. Bergholtz was 4 for 6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Cruisers on the day. Devin Carpenter, the winner, goes to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts over 7.2 innings.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Cruz, had it not been for Camden Jackson, the 23-year old left fielder . Jackson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Santa Cruz up, 1-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Jackson.
Lake Elsinore falls to 3-5.
