Starting pitcher Aiden Cook gave the San Jose Giants a rock-solid effort. The Mt. Clemens, Michigan native helped his team defeat the Santa Cruz Cruisers, 3-2, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Connor Cushman closed the game out for San Jose, earning his 14th save. The 5th-place Giants bumped their record to 71-62.

William Herman had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Giants. Coming up with the bases loaded and San Jose trailing 1-0, he hit a bases-clearing double.

"Aiden went out and did what we needed," said San Jose manager Leon Becerra.
