The Oxford Owls handed the Lakeland Flying Tigers a 4-2 defeat at Ballpark of Oxford. Left Fielder Brent Shaw starred for Oxford. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Owls, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Shaw had a timely hit for Oxford in the bottom of the seventh. With Oxford trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-2, Oxford.
