The Toronto Blue Jays relied on the hitting of second baseman Mike Asawawong to stop the New York Mets, 8-6. For the game, Asawawong was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Homer Covarrubias earned the save for Toronto, his 2nd. Toronto, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
