Tampa parlayed a decent outing from starter Kameron Redden into a solid win over the Lynchburg Hillcats. The final score was 3-2. The winner was Tampa reliever Douggie Arritt, now 2-0. The loser was Freddie Orta. Getting the save was Yeury Cruz, his 4th.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Tarpons sent 22-year-old first baseman Ethan Wolfe to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Tampa on top, 3-2.
"Tip of the cap to the Tarpons," said Lynchburg manager Jon Hundley. "They played a good game."
The loss drops Lynchburg to 5-2.
