Mantilla drives in 5 runs as Mets Squeeze Past Virginia Beach
The St. Lucie Mets beat the Virginia Beach Mariners, 8-7, in part because of second baseman Ulices Mantilla. He was 2-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Joshua Villatoro, now 1-2, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Virginia Beach now has a record of 6-2.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Mets grabbed the lead when Mantilla hit his 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Dawson Clendening made it 8-7, St. Lucie.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Virginia Beach manager Janry Veloz.
