The Memphis Blues picked up a win at Blues Stadium, knocking off the Virginia Black Bears, 5-4. On the mound for Memphis was right-hander Logan Atwell, who played a pivotal role in the win. At 3-0, the Blues have played well so far.

Had Miles Hallam not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hallam hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Blues.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Atwell.
