Winston-Salem Dash starter Dylan Allen was on his game, helping his team beat the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 3-1. Allen, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Ashton Walsh collected save number 1.
Winston-Salem took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rick Marsh hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Dash.
"I like what I saw today," said Winston-Salem manager Brandon Holmes, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The triumph makes Winston-Salem 6-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2057.
