Mets 5, Flyers 1
|
St. Lucie pitcher Emmett Buxton did his part in helping his team beat the Cocoa Flyers, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ethan Quigley earned save number 2. The Flyers, 4-6, continue their poor start to the 2052 campaign.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Oliver Fasci? The St. Lucie designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Mets on top, 2-0. For the game, Fasci had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Mets manager Octavio Collazo, "I like our chances."
