Renegades Handle Blue Jays, 3-1
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays got a sterling performance from pitcher Brody Woodard, but the Hudson Valley Renegades still prevailed, 3-1. Woodard threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Getting the save was Donald Gutiérrez, his 1st. The win lifts Hudson Valley to a record of 9-8.
Jon Fine, who is tied for 7th in the ECL in triples with 1, aided the Hudson Valley cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with a triple.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Fine told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
