In a low-scoring tilt between the Charlotte Stone Crabs and the Salem Red Sox, B.J. Ruble was the difference-maker. The Charlotte right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Ruble picked up the win for Charlotte, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Alexis Alarez closed the door for Charlotte, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
The Stone Crabs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josiah Bareiss. For the game, Bareiss went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Charlotte a 2-0 lead.
