Charlotte Drops Another One, 4-3
Virginia Beach registered a win at Virginia Beach Ballpark by beating the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 4-3. Pitcher Walt Frank was one reason why the Mariners triumphed. The win was credited to 22-year old left-handed pitcher Lee Prados in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Will Wood took the loss. Caleb Sizemore picked up the save for Virginia Beach, his 15th of the year.

Virginia Beach took a 4-1 lead on Maxwell Banas's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Banas hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Charlotte pitcher Will Wood visibly frustrated.

"Walt giving us the start that he did was huge," said Virginia Beach manager Jamie Harper.

Charlotte is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.
