Renegades Edge Flyers, 4-3
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades and Cocoa Flyers played an exciting game.
The Hudson Valley Renegades beat the Cocoa Flyers, 4-3. Hudson Valley pitcher and Fayetteville, North Carolina, native Alexander Lowery led the way. Lowery, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks.
The Flyers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Renegades going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old left fielder Bruce Bohn came to the plate. Bohn hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Cocoa hurler Iggy Leyva. It was Bohn's 12th double of the year.
"We did a lot of things right," said Bohn.
Hudson Valley, with the win, climbs to 13-25.
