With 6-3 Win, Owls Improve to 29-11
|
The Oxford Owls topped the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 6-3, in East Coast League action at Ballpark of Oxford. The standout performance belonged to Oxford pitcher and Wonder Lake, Illinois, native Mason Biondo. Biondo, the winner, moves to 4-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Andy Garcia finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Chip Quinn was a prime contributor to the Oxford win. He was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 4 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth with no one out, the 21-year old second baseman hit a 2-run double. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Owls.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Biondo.
Oxford has an impressive 29-11 record.
