Narrow Win Takes Oxford Streak to 7
|
The Oxford Owls beat the St. Lucie Mets, 4-3. Oxford pitcher and Loveland, Colorado, native Dan Climes led the way. Oxford has won 7 consecutive games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Oxford right fielder Noah Sandoval, facing Erwin Kirk, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Owls the 4-3 win.
"Swagger," said Sandoval. "That's what this team has right now."
