Renegades Lose Contest, 6-3
|
The Pit Spitters grabbed a win, 6-3, at George M. Steinbrenner Field, overcoming a fine effort from Hudson Valley pitcher Hugo Aldape. Aldape went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Dwight Flores earned save number 3 this season. The Pit Spitters saw their win-loss record go to 17-28. At the same time, the Renegades fell to 30-15.
Cole Maheu came through with a big-time hit for Traverse City. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Maheu called the win "a collective effort."
