Miyares Goes 5-for-5
|
Blue Jays second baseman Severo Miyares had his way with Lynchburg pitching today at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Hillcats ruined his great day by toppling the Blue Jays, 7-3.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Lynchburg credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Miyares did today," Hillcats skipper Jon Hundley said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Severo Miyares singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date Miyares has chalked up a .378 average with 2 home runs, driven in 13 runs and scored 19 times.
