Keys Topple Renegades, 9-1
|
Frederick starter Oliver Garner kept the Hudson Valley hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-1. Garner picked up the win for Frederick, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-4. The Keys improve their record to 24-28 with the win over Hudson Valley.
The Keys got an important contribution from designated hitter Dan Wahrman, who in the bottom of the third punched a 2-1 fastball into left-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Keys ahead, 6-1.
Keys manager Omar Leon had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
