The Lynchburg Hillcats dealt the Charlotte Stone Crabs a 5-2 loss at Charlotte Sports Park. Malcolm Cassada was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Fadil Paterson earned the win. Jordan Lundgren took the loss for Charlotte. Lynchburg is 31-19 and Charlotte, with the loss, 28-22.

It could have been a different outcome for Lynchburg, had it not been for Michael Taroon, the 25-year old catcher . Taroon contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Lynchburg up, 1-0.

"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Cassada.
