Stone Crabs Get Clonked by Blue Jays, 3-2
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 3-2, at Charlotte Sports Park. Cole Cato was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The 24-year old second baseman was a menace to Charlotte all day. John Lawson earned his 4th save, after closing out the game. Charlotte now owns a losing streak of 8 games.
Cato contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Dunedin in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Cato took a slider from Isias Enriquez and stroked the home run to left-center. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Blue Jays to leap in front, 3-2.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Charlotte manager Joe Cline.
